NOT JUST ANOTHER WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP     

 supply list

 

 

 

* your watercolor paints, brushes, and palette

 

* 1 small tube white gouache (for sizing the paper, this will not for be used for opaque painting technique)

 

* your easel (some tables are provided) (ideally the work surface should be slightly slanted)

 

* the paper will be supplied, and it is Strathmore 500 series 4-ply plate finish bristol

 

* a board to tape the paper onto (the chip board from the back of a drawing pad works well, or any fairly smooth wood)

 

* a roll of invisible tape (similar to Scotch Magic Tape) (this is optional-for making clean borders)

 

* a roll of transparent package strapping tape or duct tape

 

* glass jar for water

 

* a rag

 

* a pencil and sketch pad, if desired, to make a drawing study before painting

 

* a simple photo (preferably black and white), or simple still-life object to paint

 

 

 

INSTRUCTOR WILL PROVIDE:  technique reference handouts, the paper we will paint on, cutting tools, ruler, straight edge for cutting paper, some photos to paint, some boards to tape the paper on, and hairdryers to speed drying if needed.
